Location and time

The course is implemented in the Moodlerooms learning environment. Additional instructions related to the implementation of the course will be sent to those who have been accepted for the course no earlier than one week before the start of the studies.

Teaching methods

The course is especially suitable for those working in the health and social services, but it is also suitable for all those who work with older people, plan activities or business for older people in the future.

Goals of the course:
The student can explain the concept of functional capacity in the ICF framework.
The student is able to evaluate an elderly person's functional capacity extensively with high-quality assessment methods and utilizes the results in customer-oriented goal setting and monitoring of changes in functional capacity.
The student is able to formulate GAS goals together with the client
The student knows the ways to increase the client's daily activity.
The student is able to record functional ability in a customer-oriented manner.
The student understands the importance of networking in supporting the functional capacity of the elderly.

Eldery people`s functioining in the ICF-framework.
Assessment of the functional capacity of the elderly
Designation of GAS targets
Means to improve / maintain functioning.
Customer-driven documentation of functioning.
Networks to support the functioning of the elderly

The student implements a functional ability assessment and plan (GAS goals) as well as functional maintenance activities for one elderly person and reports the process. (course to be assessed)
