Objective

After successfully completing the study unit, you are able to describe and report your skills and knowledge, tell about your work experience and career plans, and write application documents. You are able to understand business texts, discuss business-related topics and introduce a familiar company in speech and in writing. You are able to communicate professionally and effectively in the most common business situations. You understand how the choice of different communication channels impact language.

Completion alternatives

The student who has acquired the required competence in business communication in English non- or informally can complete the course through RPL Proof of Competence. The possibility and methods of demonstrating written and spoken communication skills must be agreed with the teacher before the beginning of the study unit.

Student workload

The course contains 28 hours of scheduled sessions on campus. The weekly sessions are complemented with self-study assignments and some pair and group work.

Further information

The student needs to choose one more 3 cr. business English course from complimentary studies. The options are Marketing Communication in English, English for Accounting and Finance or English for Business Law.
