Methodology and teaching methods:
1. Preparatory Assignment/Readings
Every topic covered in the spring school has its preparatory readings, which are mandatory in order to follow the course and utilize the gained.

2. Online Collaborative Experience
The spring school is designed towards experience-based learning. Short theoretical highlights/inputs by top managers and scientists will be accompanied by virtual company visits, workshops and a final online assignment for small interculturally diversely structured student-teams, offering a broad variety of challenging possibilities to learn and gain experience.
3. Group Work: The work is implemented in a group of 4-6 students.

Teaching methods

Objectives
The students:
• understand how the emerging of a business champion may look like from a cultural and historical perspective.
• understand how an SME with limited resources is realizing a USP and a market positioning.
• identify the main challenges for international companies operating in Europe in respect to the social and economic requirements.
• pre-assess intercultural differences of a European team-setting, respect and utilize these differences productively.
• relate the success of an organization to its cultural background, the specific environment the organization is embedded to and to key success factors in today's globalized world.
• use the right information sources and channels to collect, process and manage information in a multilingual environment.
• cooperate in a multicultural (national and international) professional environment.
• understand the current reality of the multilingual professional environment and how this affects the professional context.

Student workload

Learning materials and recommended literature: Students will get complete study material before and during the course.

Student´s workload: 81 hours: Share of student's workload: Lectures 16h, readings and assignments 65h.

Group Member Evaluation (peer feedback): Peer evaluation may be applied.

The students:
• are able to differentiate between various market entry and growth strategies.
• develop an understanding of online collaboration in multicultural settings, including new methods to see the potential and risks.
• use the right information sources and channels to collect, process and manage information in a multilingual environment.
• are capable of identifying key success factors for business growth within and outside the organization.
• are able to understand the social, micro-and macroeconomic environment of operating business in Europe and know how to identify and interpret relevant statistical material about European countries and its’ business-related data.
• are able to identify intercultural challenges of working in Europe and develop a set of skills that enables to cope with intercultural differences.
