Objective

You are able to read mathematics text and simplify mathematical expressions. You are able to solve equations and apply mathematics your own field applications.

• College Algebra, chapters 1-2, 5, 7 (as applicable).

• TI-Nspire™ CX CAS Student Software

Exam schedules

Midterm exams are agreed on the first lesson of the course.

Final exam on December 2023 according to study plan.

It is possible to resit the exam with the same course content twice until 31.5.2023. The exam resits for the course are announced on Moodle. Enrollments to resits via email to the teacher of the cousre.

This course can't be done on EXAM-environment.

Assessment methods and criteria

Evaluation is based on the exams, specified exercises and assignments announced by the teacher on the lessons and on Moodle. If the student's total amount of points is
- less than 40 % of maximum -> grade 0 (fail)
- 40 - 51 % of maximum -> grade 1
- 52 - 63 % of maximum -> grade 2
- 64 - 75 % of maximum -> grade 3
- 76 - 91 % of maximum -> grade 4
- more than 91 % of maximum -> grade 5.

There are difficulties to solve basic equations

The student is unable to apply mathematics

The student knows basic mathematical expressions and can read easy mathematical texts

The student is able to do basic equation solving.

The student is able to apply basics on easy applications.

Grade 1: 40 - 51 % of points from exams and other exercises or assignments

Grade 2: 52 - 63 % of points from exams and other exercises or assignments
