Objective

Student understands different aspects on sustainability and sustainable development. Student knows the concepts of industrial ecology and can identify improvement opportunities in industrial production systems. Student can identify system boundaries, actors and material- and energy flows. Student can describe the sustainability and evolution of industrial ecosystems and eco-industrial areas. Student knows the concepts of life cycle analyses and can analyse life-cycle impacts of a product or a service.

Content

Alternative aspects on sustainability and sustainable development, basics of systems analyses, industrial ecology concepts and principles, regional and product based approaches on industrial ecology, concepts and standards of life-cycle analyses, generating life-cycle analyses by LCA application; tutorial practicesj, oint assignment with Quality and Environmental Management. Assignment includes generation of life-cycle analyses with working-life partners.
