Preparatory studies in mathematics focus on improving basic mathematical skills. The aim of the course is to prepare students for the mathematical challenges needed for university studies. In addition, the course aims to prepare students for the mathematical component of the entrance examinations for polytechnics.

30% of the maximum score => grade 1
42% of the maximum number of points => grade 2
53% of the maximum number of points => grade 3
70% of the maximum score => grade 4
86% of maximum score => grade 5

The student does not know/have mastered the key/individual concepts of mathematics and demonstrates basic knowledge of the domain.
Students can act appropriately when solving simple maths problems, although they can be fumbling. The student can act according to instructions and solve basic problems.
Students will be able to use mathematical concepts consistently and demonstrate mastery of basic knowledge in the field.
Students can select appropriate ways to model simple mathematical problems. Students can solve basic mathematical problems and assess their own competence. Students can apply their knowledge to basic tasks.
Students can use mathematical terms and concepts in a competent way and combine them into entities.
Students will be able to model and solve simple mathematical problems and assess the validity of the solutions. Students will be able to apply their mathematical knowledge to a variety of tasks and situations.
